Photocamp 2006

droplitsI attended Vancouver Barcamp 2006 last weekend and it was a hit! One of the highlights was Photocamp hosted by the likes of Warwick Patterson, Kris Krug and Matt Trentlacoste (PHD student at UBC). It was a one hour session and had a lot of cool goodies for us to gander at. Matt was up first and showed us some online demos of prototypes of what he is working on at UBC. This included Fourier slice photography, Graph processing and the Plenoptic camera. See Matt’s online notes about these on his blog. Warwick gave his top tips on preparing images for the web which includes a first stop at Photoshop’s ‘unsharpen mask’. Details will be posted to Warwick’s blog soon. Kris Krug covered lomography, cross-processing (with traditional film for the artsy set) and what it’s like to get your photos stolen on flickr. It was a good session and I was inspired to get more creative with my photography (if I can find that elusive time to do so!)
